Learning Loft Retreat

TLA helps people envision and build "lifeboats" for the transition through resource depletion, climate change, population overshoot and economic collapse.

Work Study Program

Like an Internship, a Work Study is hands-on education. However, in a Work Study, the participant determines the length of stay and the length of the work day. Free hours may be spent visiting historic Astoria, exploring the lower Columbia River area or studying in the library. Participants must pay for their own board. Room rate is negotiable depending on the work schedule agreed upon. It’s a comfortable, educational way to “try out” sustainable, off-the-grid living or complete a personal project toward self-sufficiency.
