Threads was a made-for television film produced by the BBC and shown once in 1984 in Britain and once in 1985 in Britain, Australia and the US. It was not shown again until 2003. It is probably the most serious and comprehensive docudrama on nuclear war's aftermath. For a refresher on some of what nuclear war means, begin with The Day After which does a good job contrasting people's lives immediately beforehand with coming to grips during the early aftermath. Then watch Threads which is a more thorough treatment of nuclear war's aftermath, covering years rather than days. We highly recommend both.
